The Wynmoor Nature Club in Coconut Creek, Florida has two monthly activities from October to May.    On the first Thursday of the month members gather for refreshments and listen to speakers on topics ranging from plants and animals to environmental issues and natural resources.    Meetings are usually held at 8:30 a.m. in Ballroom C of the Clubhouse unless special audiovisual equipment is needed. Then members meet in the Lecture Hall.   On the third Thursday of the month members take field trips where docents are usually available to inform us about their respective nature setting.  Members meet at East Wing 4 for car pooling or Tract 1000 for buses to distant sites.  Members are reminded of club activities by emails or by phone if no email is available.  Dues are $15 annually.

On April 20th members of the Nature Club will car pool to Gumbo Limbo for the monthly field trip.   On May 4th our guest speaker, Ryan, will talk about Orchids.  On May 18th interested members will meet for lunch at 11:15 a. m. at a restaurant near the Boca Raton Museum.  The docent led tour of the museum begins at 1 p.m. Call Roberta Cohen at (954) 975 3997 to let her know if you are interested and to learn the name of the restaurant.

Because of Wynmoor's beautiful landscaping, the Nature Club members enjoy learning about Wynmoor's plants,  wildlife, landscapes, and waterways.  A special section of this website is devoted to these.  Plants include trees, palms, succulents, and flowers.  There are separate pages for each as well as for  shade trees, flowering trees, fruit and nut trees, and  evergreens.   The wildlife section has separate pages for waterbirds and landbirds.  The Annual Art and Craft Festival includes nature subjects.  We have included samples from the 2011 and 2016 shows.  An index is found on the Wynmoor link at the top.

The City of Coconut Creek and the counties of Broward, Palm Beach, and Miami-Dade offer a wide array of natural resources for members of the Nature Club to visit and enjoy as a group or individually.   This website provides links to their respective websites.  Begin by clicking Resources at the top of the page.
